Reaction vs. Right Action

• Monday, February 16th, 2009

Given the right inward state, right action is inevitable.”

Howard Brinton

When we are centered in what we care about, we have the ability to consciously choose right action in each situation, vs. responding out of default reactions.

What is the “right inward state” you need to cultivate in order to take right action in your world?

 Is it….

  • Gratitude
  • An inner calm in the face of change
  • Respect and support for those around you
  • Deep appreciation for others
  • Radiant joy at new possibilities
  • A commitment to show up
  • Willingness to begin anew
  • An evolving sense of humor
  • A willingness to revisit, such that conversations can be clear
  • Or something else??

In discerning the difference between reaction and right action, sometimes timing is everything!

Identify the greatest challenge you are facing, and then allow yourself true inner freedom to make the “right inward state” choice that is truly right for you.  You really do get to choose.
